PAW swirl pics
Hi Folks,
Just sharing some pics of todays project. It was an attempt at a Passion & Warfare style swirl, on an old RG570 body.
Well, the lower half turned out pretty groovy, the black and pink is very sharp. The top half, yellow and green, umm, not what I was hoping for, so I suppose its off for sanding and a re-swirl...

Re: PAW swirl pics
The top half is pretty cool, not bad at all, but that bottom half is spectacular

Re: PAW swirl pics
I'm not sure you realy need to do that again. When it gets coloured pups and knobs on , plus the trem etc I think it'll look cool. Sometimes swirls can be a little too busy for my liking.

Re: PAW swirl pics
I agree with Eggy.. DO NOT RESWIRL THAT.. Thats a keeper..
To much uniformity in my eyes is a bad thing.. Add some pink pickups and that thing will scream..

I like it, I wouldn't reswirl it. What kind of paint did you use? Polyurethane, Enamel, etc.....

Re: PAW swirl pics
Just put an F-Hole on the top side if you think it lacks dark colors (PGM on the brain). If not.....just keep it like that. Either way keep that swirl!

Re: PAW swirl pics
Thanks for the comments. The worst thing about doing swirls is that sometimes, part of it comes out perfect, yet the rest is junk. Its hard to see on the pics, but there are some nasty craters from water drops in the yellow parts where it was too thick. On that basis alone I can't save this one, not for myself and certainly not for anyone else.
So its no biggie, I'm gonna do her again. My swirling technique is becoming more stable. I know I can reproduce that and better, just need to tweak the colour balance a little.

I'm not crazy about that swirl and it's way off from the PAW swirl. But, don't re-swirl it.
Playing it on stage, who cares what those a-holes think that play those lame ass giant guitars. Those big guitars with the f-holes in them and the hollow-body Gibsons, those things are lame. Most new rock-bands play lame ass guitars. Play it on stage and shred away, because most new rock bands cannot do it.

I concur. If you need some, i have a set of evos (including the jem single coil) and an x2n that would fit nicely.
