Portuguese Fado
Hey guys,
I was talking to my friend not^^ in the "Best portuguese guitarist ever" thread and that conversation reminded me that maybe I could share with you some portuguese music.
On that thread, the third video shows, the portuguese guitarrist, Gonçalo Pereira, playing a Carlos Paredes song. That song is called Movimento Perpetuo, that song is amazing and I was thinking, why shouldn't I show to my friends at jemsite what a real guitarist can do?
So, here it is. The work of Carlos Paredes played by himself on the portuguese guitar. I recommend every song, but if you want to listen to the best one, choose Movimento Perpetuo (It's the 10th song)
Enjoy.

Re: Portuguese Fado
Here is a portuguese guitar, just to give you an idea of how difficult is to play a song like that.
Forget your wizard necks!!!

Re: Portuguese Fado
Listening to the stuff now, and its really quite impressive. Very different to what i usually listen to, but its good to broaden the listening every now and then!
Thank you so much for sharing. Ive certainly learnt something today!

Re: Portuguese Fado
I don't think so...It is very traditional here in portugal. I don't think you can find it in the internet.

Re: Portuguese Fado
I knew about Parades for a bit, I have a cassette of my dad's lying around somewhere, haven't heard it in ages though - I think I'll dig that out. I like some vocal fado when I am in the mood (though I only really know Misia).
Your posts remind me what an idiot I am - I was going to visit a friend in Portugal this summer, but never got around to it because of work and some stupid timing issues.
