Remember this tool?
Poor old Batio. Found this on Youtube today. It gets real ugly at about 1:08.

Re: Remember this tool?
he seems like a nice enough guy in interviews but his music is cringefully cheesy and so is his performance style.

Re: Remember this tool?
Call me crazy, but I didn't think that was bad at all. I have a few instructional videos from him from way back, and he was a pretty good teacher on them, and he's got great technique and accuracy.

He's more than a machine. Listen to his first solo album "No boundaries". Simply beautiful. I think he should tour more, and stop doing so many covers. Come on MAB, you have the potential!!

I'm not a huge fan, but I don't think he's anywhere close to being a tool.

Re: Remember this tool?
That's an
instructional
video?!? How is anyone supposed to learn from that?
And yeah, he's good, but I'd so much rather watch Bruce Springsteen.

Re: Remember this tool?
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN???? You gotta be sh*tting me. Talk about BORING. Dude hasn't had a decent song since the early 80's. Michael Angelo has great technique and is fast as hell. Maybe a bit lacking in the "feeling" department but most of the really really fast guys are. Its a rare guitar player that can combine the 2. Petrucci comes to mind, and Vai, and Satch.............

Re: Remember this tool?
He is a really good player, it's just that some of his showmanship is kinda silly looking. I think that's more for non-musicians to see and go "Whoa! Did you see THAT?!!" and be impressed rather than an educated guitar player watching and really knowing what's going on.
And I'd rather have a colonoscopy than watch Springsteen do ANYTHING.

Re: Remember this tool?
Agreed on all of the above, a really good player but a bit lacking in the emotional aspect of music.
Could do without the cheesy "showmanship" tough,

This is what music's all about!
Nothing personal, though. He sure can play the guitar, I guess he deserves some respect for dedication.
