Rough Draft 1

I dont have any writing experience, mainly because I have beeen to busy copying everybody else.LOL I started working on something today that just came to me and wondered if you thought it was something I should continue working on or ditch it. Please remember this is just a short clip and a VERY rough draft. Hence the name for now. All I have are cheesey drum samples and a guitar....no bass or keys or anything.

Re: Rough Draft 1

I like it Doug, I think it definitely has potential.

If I may be as bold as to suggest a slower melody in places to punctuate between the fast bits

Point taken! I need constructive criticism as someone new to writing!

The other thing to consider is that all I have to record with is Riffworks, so I have to do it 1 riff at a time and it sounds kinda choppy. Again, thats why I call it Rough Draft 1. Your point is well taken! I will work on it!

I agree with markg5150. It certainly has potential, but like he suggested, some tempo changes to accentuate the faster riffs, etc would be good.

Re: Rough Draft 1

Its hard to go too much slower without going half time. I intentionally made the song this tempo because of the opening riff. Feedback please!

Re: Rough Draft 1

Depends where people want the slower bits!! I personally love high tempo, high energy stuff.I think maybe arriving at a slow bridge section (half time feel) to break it up before a ripping solo would be cool, but i wouldn't want to slow down anything in there so far
Don't keep us in suspense too long though!!

Re: Rough Draft 1

Put your same recording through a audio program and slow it just 10 bpm less than it is now and youll see how better it sounds, also after your play your riff (really cool BTW) just play it more silently (palm mute, or punctuate the notes, or go cleaner -experimentate) because it distracts too much from the main solo melody...
