Satch Boogie cover :)
Hi again,
I recorded a cover of Satriani's
Satch Boogie
. I was mainly concerned about the overall sound quality because I recorded this at really really low volume with a a cheap microphone found on Headset/microphone combos for PCs (Sorry!! Too broke to buy other stuff lol)... you can even hear the unamplified sound of the guitar at some places
For the first part I used a DS-1 on top of existing distortion.
For the tapping I used a flanger and
boss chorus
and did it twice, panning signal more on one speaker for each guitar. I think it doesn't sound too bad.
Concerning the performance, I just tried to get the overall feel of the song and inspired myself of Joe's solo of course, but some places are a total departure (just before tapping bit) with high-shred chromatics (lol couldn't resist).

That was a f***ing awesome cover man. I am not worthy! lol!
If you dont mind me saying so, the only thing I didnt like was the constant change in tones. I liked em all, I just thought they were VERY different tones and kinda spoilt it. Apart from that it was ace my friend, and who am I to criticise!

Thanks alot for the comments guys, it's very encouraging to have people like what you do, coz in general not alot of people are into instrumental guitar
so it's nice to be able to share a passion with other people.
Godfather: Ok I'll take a note of that! No it's cool I'm actually happy when people say what they think (this is what helps me to improve, if people were just nice without being honest I wouldn't get the chance to improve!!)
I've moved my webpage to this host because geocities has been blocking access above a certain volume transfered. Here's the new address:

Tapping is by far the easiest part in this tune, even I can play it.

aah come on m8, you know when you can do something it always feels easy but for people who haven't practiced that technique it's difficult for them
so don't be too tough!

An excellent cover!!!!!!!
There a few things about the recording, but the sound and the tune are well done. I really like this cover, keep going, hope you can post more songs like that...

lol, i can play the tapping part, but not aswell as id like. I think its the easiest part to play, but the hardest part to master. ill record it and post it up here, so you can all laugh!! (why dont you post it aswell microdmitry?)
Have a listen to my always with me... cover ( its in another topic here ) when i get to the tapping i start ok but slowly speed up and end up finishing about an eight note early! i only realised when i listened back...

Great job!!
The tapping is not 100% correct though.I agree its easy but I could hear notes missing.Mainly it sounded like you pulled off and did not hammer back on before tapping again. Very impressive though.Post more stuff.

Its just one form of tapping repeated over different A scales. Its easier than other forms of single string tapping. It was never hard for me to learn.
Wanna tough tapping tech, check out this one by greg howe.
