Slinky Pinky Thingy

Hey guys,
Here's a little ditty I made up... pretty fun stuff...

In anycase, Slinky Pinky Thingy is a sort of beginner's play with odd time signatures, very basic, in an Intro/Chorus/Verse/Chorus/Verse/Chorus pattern. Lately been trying to get a grip on them odd time signatures... I played with 7/4 for the verses and on the choruses, I played 3/4 over a 4/4 pattern, something like 4 x 3/4 then 1 4/4... to make up 16 bars. Nothing spectacular, just a mish mash of stuff.

Hope you guys enjoy it, tell me what you think...

Re: Slinky Pinky Thingy

woah...

some damn nice playing. there was a definite vai thing going on with the transition through different ideas. not a huge fan of the tone in some places. what did you use to record/play that?

you're one of those players that makes me think i have no business being on jemsite. or owning guitars.

Hey damo, haha, no no no... thats not my intent to make you feel like that! Just.. well, steal whatever you can. We all learn.

Ah... what did I use to record?

Just 1 axe thru out.... my only S520EX... its an older model, with the Edge trem. The first half of the song, I was using a PAF Joe/ Breed neck in bridge combi.. then 2nd half, it became a FRED in neck.

Then it was running thru my whole bunch of pedals... main things there are the modded TS9DX, Tech21 TRI AC, demeter mid boost.... holy grail reverb... straight into the computer, running calkwalk SONAR.

Oh yeah...
Some of the weird fuzzy tones... hehe. Danelectro French Toast. Nifty little gadget that thing... can make your tone sound a cat clawing a blackboard. Evil.

Wow, that sounds like the soundtrack to someone having a bad acid trip! lol

Seriously I love hearing stuff like that and it had some damn fine playing.

Now I'm going to delete it and erase my history before my girlfriend see it on the desktop and thinks I've been downloading porn...

Re: Slinky Pinky Thingy

Hehe... well, true mi2tom. Though, its not a very well received "trademark" back here in Singapore. Straight out normal shred is preferred.
