Re: some music
How about spreading your wings and getting Harry Manx and Kevin Breit's new album - great acoustic blues and roots music - on permanent rotation chez moi right now .......

Re: some music
What about something that isn't fully instumental.
Like some rock (Or your preferred type of genre) songs from various artists something with a good beat, most bands these days aren't up to the level that Vai is at, but some of their rythms can really get you hooked, broaden your horizons, don't just stick to one type try to explore the many "Flavours" of music out there, Theres more to the world of music than the instumental stuff.
But if you like the instrumental stuff then Gilbert is a good one to listen to.

Re: some music
You should try listening to some classical music. It's very refreshing after a lot of rock. For instance
Shostakovich
.
