some recent tracks

so, i've been working on some stuff, a little off the beaten path, and of course, looking for critique, and suggestions.

the first, titled night, was inspired by the book night. so if you have read the book, keep that in mind while listening to this track

also, this is an idea, a song in the works if you will. has lots of potential i believe. don't mind the abrupt transition in the beginning, it's all good after that.

any logistical and rational advice accepted.

Re: some recent tracks

Hi Brandon

Night sounds pretty good. It's got that ominous serious sound to it, though it seems as if the percussions are kinda of ~stumbling~ along. May just be my set up though. I like the "vaisesque" interlude and nice little arp

The second one sounds almost "regal" like the meeting of kings or something. I like the harmonic lines. I guess my only crit in that would be that the distortion seems a bit "TOO DEEP".

All in all, good stuff and thumbs up for your efforts! You'll be famous in no time at all

Re: some recent tracks

yeah, i had some trouble with tempos on night, but it turned out decent.

as far as the distortion goes, i can't tell you how hard it is to dial in a tone on garageband, i've tinkered with eq for so long, and that is the best tone i have so far.

thanks for your comments though.

I liked it. I agree with Jim, when it comes to the percussion, though.
