Song from Bob Oakman and me
Fellow Jemsiter
Bob Oakman
and I put together a tune recently, so I thought I'd post it for constructive criticisms and feedback.
Bob wrote and played the rhythm guitars and bass and did the drum programming. I did the lead guitar melody over top of it. This is just a fun tune with no over-the-top soloing, so we just had a good time with it. Hope you enjoy! Oh, and of course, Bob did all the mixing/production on it. This isn't the final mix, but it sounds good because Bob rules!

Thanks,
Paul

Your in a league of minority ... Bear with me it's a good thing ;-) The Mrs loves it ... only Rikk Beattie and Clive Murray have that honor so far (apart from myself, and i'm crap)

Sounds too "80's" to me...
Just thought I'd get that over with, so people aren't afraid to say it.
I must have something like 20 new songs floating around on my hard drive. You will hear Paul and I (and some surprise vocal guests) colaberating on a few more soon.

I like the intro, very cool sounding, and the mix is just perfect...
The drums sound ok, they're samples, right? Not bad considering if they are.
Overall, I like it, agree it would work great in a movie/video game, but it's a fun song on it's own too.
Nice work, I like the part at about 1:30-ish

Thanks for the feedback!
It's helpful for us to be able to tweak future songs with regard to the mix/production and of course the musicality of it all. This has been a fun pursuit so far.

I like the intro stuff. Nice melody, too. There's a little part in there that kind of reminds me of Buckethead.

An excellent job, it remembers me the Castlevania games. Very good job.

I have this reoccurring dream where I find an abandoned alien space craft deep in the woods. i discover how to operate it and, with some friends, take it for joy rides at night. It's hard to fly and we bump into things and have some close calls, but overall, its a blast. I started playing a riff that reminded me of the dream, hit record and it just kept coming. I finished all the tracks and sent it to Paul for lead. Paul uploaded his tracks, I slapped them into the song and there you have it.
Nobody asked for an explanation. I was just in the mood to share.
My guitar was way sharp when I recorded it, so I had to pitch Paul up. Now I am re-tracking the bass and guitars, so it will sound right. I'll probably re-do the drums and the weird intro part at the same time.

This stuff sounds GOOD dudes! A real song is not what you get most of the times, mostly on forums, people just post big solo's or something. Not you dudes, sounds good!!!
Sound is a bit DAYUM loud though, even with the new Extigy up in herre... Good nontheless.
