That's pretty damned cool! Cool riffage.

I really like No Happy Ending, too - the piano is awesome! I especially like the strings, too - very atmospheric. That piece sounds quite like something Nobuo Uematsu would write for a Final Fantasy game.

Only thing I'd say is it needs some sort of other melody to keep things interesting.

Good work, though!

Re: Song i made, all new and FRESH :D

Mylo, thanks!

Dragsternj, thanks, and itīs just a cheap RG170DX six string with crap stock pups (ibanez pwrsnd pups) going through guitar rig 2.2

the bass track is just guitar with pitch shifting effects, my bass is at my bands practice place :P

itīs recorded in Garageband, and so is all my other songs :P

drums were programmed by me in garageband, and the prettyness of the sound comes from really nitpicking in the editing process, and a multiband compressor on the master track

also, adding a little distorted bass-sound that just sounds like a fuzzy-arse mess fading in and ending abruptly before the īīumf!īī type parts make that flying-at-you-hitting-you-hard feeling... wuv that un...

Cool song. The tune and tone reflects the title of the song. However I was expecting some lead solo in the middle, but it didnt come.

Re: Song i made, all new and FRESH :D

thanks! as i said, iīm picky about my sound... i have to sometimes just take a day off without listening to the mix before i go back to it, after listening to other music, and then coming back with fresh ears re-evaluating it... i spend time with the multiband compressor in the master (whole mix goes through it at the end) and i tweak the parameters alot...

and then, i listen to it without looking at the screen, keeping my head perfectly centered between the speakers, to get the stereo-sound just right, and i listen to it... when i hear something not sounding right, i go in and mutilate it until it does what itīs told! :P

nah, but really, itīs just about pickyness... there are three different drumkits playing the exact same programmed pattern, except in the verse-riff part, the two additional drumkits donīt play the cymbals. i pan the drumkits slightly left and right, and make it stick in the background, so it makes a fuller fatter drum-sound altogether. you donīt notice till itīs gone :P

and i do a nice deal of moving panning and stuff, like the left-right drums in the heavy slow part pans all the way to the sides (they are like 30% panned at first), and i increase the volume of the center-guitar (which only pops up in the verses, and then from the bridge and out) and the background left-right guitars (mainly additional melody-stuff... and all the other things as well... and i have a distorted drumkit in the bridge with lots of reverb PRE-distortion, and a dry heavily distorted drumkit in the slow heavy part...

enough rambling though, as no-one will ever care to read all that :P
