Not sure, I recorded mine on VHS from TV back in the 80's. I don't have the tape anymore.

SRV is the man. I love this performance and this version alot. He was just so focused and determined, he was truly phenomenal and his tone, awesome.

When you get a chance, check out SRV live at Montreaux. Greatest performance ever IMO.

I know, he uses some thick strings. Amazing how he just bends notes effortlessly and he's feeling it all the time when he's playing. Words cannot describe how phenomenal SRV was. RIP SRV.

Mixed feelings about this - there are moments here that are absolutly phenominal. And you can totally see him intentionally throwing in the occasional Jimi-ism, the legato lick down the G string halfway through, the nod to "Who Knows" after he kicks in the wah... On the other hand,there are moments he seems to lose it, particularly that fast repeated lick he does for most of an entire chorus before spinning out and breaking into the slidey add9 bit that makes up the turnaround. By '83 the coke and Crown Royal (and with the way he looks in this, I'm sure he's coked out of his mind) were beginning to do him in, I guess...

Still, the man's a master. When he's got it together here, he's jaw-droppingly good. It's just there's the occasional moment where you're a little embarrassed for the guy... :/
