Cool

Strange beautiful music songs - live

I found these songs from SBM on YouTube. Very cool to see them being performed live. The arrangement of Mountain song is really cool. Be sure to check them out, if you haven't already.

Mountain song
Oriental melody
Mind storm
New last jam
Belly dancer
Seven string

I also found this version of 'The headless horseman' from the same show.

The headless horseman

Yeah, they're great, aren't they? It would be cool if they released this footage on DVD.

I've thought about seeing Joe play live, too. He's also coming to Tilburg. But, I've changed my mind, because I find I can never enjoy the music because of the volume, which is just too high. If I do decide to go, I'll definately wear earplugs.

I always wear earplugs when i go to a concert. I bought mine for like one buck at a local dumpstore, but they work FANTASTIC!

I might go to the Tilburg show. I would be cool to see him play the new material. With earplugs I might be able to enjoy the show.

Here's some interesting reading, perhaps, regarding the volume of live shows.

If you do, be sure to get the japanese import version with the bonus track. 'The eight steps' is well worth the extra few bucks, imo.

I wasn't aware of that. Happy listening, newbie!

I love SBM. It's a great album. My favorites, I guess would be 'Oriental melody', 'Chords of life', 'Mind storm' and 'What breaks a heart'. Wonderful stuff.

Re: Strange beautiful music songs - live

Was he using the neck or the bridge pickup for the main part of the song?

Re: Strange beautiful music songs - live

He switches between pickups all the time during songs. Which song are you referring to?

Whilst tapping, for instance the arpeggios in 'The mystical potato head groove thing' and songs like 'Midnight' he uses the neck pickup, I think.

Alwin,

If you have the chance of seeing Joe live, I highly recommend it. If you've never seen Joe playing live, it's an experience that you'll never forget.
