Talking

Sunshine of your love solo.

hey, we are playing an arrangement my guitar teacher made of sunshine of your love. I am one of the candidates to play a solo, and i decided to sit down and write one that hopefully will get me the spot! I recorded the whole solo section, with a simple drum beat, the rhythm guitars, bass, and of course the lead.

Tell me what you think of my solo!

Thanks.

Re: Sunshine of your love solo.

I like the phrasing. Although when you do the octave thing towards the end, you are out of key. And like Rya said, your tone is very heavy on the treble. Which sounds like an 'electric ham sandwich', like Frank Zappa once called Steve Vai's tone, if I remember reading correctly.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the solo. As I said, the phrasing is very cool. Are you using your UV on this recording?

Kind regards,
Myst

Thanks for the comments.

I am using my jackson on this recording.

I'll see what i can do about the eq and whatnot, it's a pain to get a good sound in garageband.

Thanks anyway,

Hi Brandon.

I though it was pretty good. (a little weak in the solo area though )) (J.K.) I owed you that I Enjoyed listening to it. And right on for sittin down and working something out. That in itself may land ya the spot. How many others besides yourself are up for the spot??

Nice work and good luck. Let us know if you get it

Rock on

okay jim....

There are about three or four other people, but Swick may just extend that part of the song and have all of us play, which would be incredible.

My band does this song. I like your solo, but I'm not sure that it matches the song. My solo for this song is probably out of key during some parts, I play a blues variation but the beginning starts out somewhat the same as the original. I never play the same thing. With that song you don't have to play the same thing.

Since there are only 3 or 4 of you, I think that is a great idea by Mr. Swickie

That way no one feels left out and you all get your moment in the spotlight
