not bad but id change a few things,

id put a flanger and maybe a chorus over the lead, it will bring it right out of the mix and will make it sound more authentic,

from memory ( i read this ages ago) when they were doing the original track they had a an eventide 949 harmonizer and it kept breaking, the sound they got wasnt apparently the best sound they had of the day, but the unit broke and they had to stick with that take!

i might record a lead on it and see how i go

personally in that mix, i would have added what i call "juice" to it, i guess juice is a coloured sound, makes it sound wet, maybe more trebble and a little less gain (for the rhythm)

I used a Behringer Vamp Pro for the backinig (some marshall patch with vintage cab) for the lead i used the same patch, but a 4x10 cab, and a boss gt6 on the input side of it doing the wah, the vamp pro had the flange on it.

i also used my new Strat Deluxe with SCN pickups, i can nail old satch tones with this thing
