Seems like to me that it could be a common melody. I like both artists, but I think some fans can take this copying stuff to the extremes.

and Joe did see it.... on tour in Aussie he was asked at the meet n greet about it, but i forget what he said about it! sry... but im sure on the US tour comin up, people will ask him on a daily basis about it, amongst all the other usual Q's!

I doubt anyone in Coldplay ever heard Satch. It's obvious from their albums Coldplay hates music.

But how do you know the guitarist doesn't listen to satch? Maybe he came up with that part. Ever been writing a song and suddenly realized the melody was from a song you know? Maybe thats what happened here except he never realized.
Either way, its not like im offended by them using that haha. some people are I guess. lol

The Satch version is more appealing to me, but I dig them both! Yes it does sound like a rip off, but it's well done...
