Why is it the standard response to someone being against shredding is "you can't play that so you don't like it" ?

+1. Shredding isnt the be all and end all of guitar playing. I'd rather listen to metal/rock bands like w/snake, queen and bon jovi than shred most of the time, that doesnt mean i cant play it or dont like it.

And besides, what if people dont like shred or cant play it? Whats it gotta do with you? What you gonna do about it?

Because when someone posts a thread titled "Watch shredders ruin a great song" it's like you're asking for it

Bah, the best thing to ever come out of Bowie's mouth was Mick Jagger's ****.
I really tried to get into his music, but it just isn't going to happen

News Flash to you:
1)It would be ludicrous to for a REAL musician to think Shredding is the be all
end all of guitar, only ignorants make such generalizations
2)I listen to all the bands you mentioned and more
3)What you like or what you can play it's not in question but if the shoe fits...
4)Well if people don't like shred or can't play it the more power to them, they are exercising their freedom of choice my lad so who cares!!!
5)what does it have to do with me??? what does it have to do with you???
6)What am I gonna do about it? I will use Petrucci's psycho exercises to blow up the brains of those who don't submit to shred Guitar!!! Are you for real with these questions??? how old did you say you were???
