Youtube vid of a song from church today...

*disclaimer/warning*

If you're offended by or feel the need to debate religion, please don't bother watching this. It's simply a short vid from our service today that I want to share.

I made the HUGE mistake of setting the camera to record on the flash stick, instead of the DV-Tape which minimizes the quality of the video. But what's cool about it is, it's the FIRST video of me and my daughters playing together. The girls singing are not our regular singers. One of them is very good, one other is pretty good, the other 2 have never sung before. I try to give different people a chance to contribute to the service, so long as they are not a distraction. I thought they did a pretty good job considering. This is early in the service as people are still coming in.

Me on the far right, daughters on far left of screen.

Not that you can here it very well, but, GEAR:

Roland TD-6 Drums
Tele into XTLive
Ibanez Artwood into Avalon U5
Samick Custom 5 sting into Sansamp Bass Driver
PA: Mackie Powered 450's on 1501's

Really, it sound ALOT better live than on this crummy vid.

Later, Darin

Good music, regardless of religioin music is universal, knows no boundries, and a musicians strength flows from the music.

That's a talented family you've got there I really respect you for both encouraging your kids' musical talents AND raising them in a faith based environment.

I'd like to think that the disclaimer wasn't necessary. I'm not Christian, but I thought it was a sweet video. I hope you'll post some more

I'm not in the slightest bit religious, but it is cool to see someones pride in their family and a strong belief in humanity.

Thanks for posting

Re: Youtube vid of a song from church today...

The disclaimer was because I got a PM a few months ago because of mentioning something church related. It wasn't evangelistic in nature, just a mention. But the person was offended enough to send me a PM alerting me to his offensed feeling. I wanted to take a margin of care to give those put off by religious content to know what coming if they click on the vid link.

Thanks for your kind comments. I'm hoping to have my son (12) playing drums with us in a couple months. Even a couple songs when we play New Years Eve. I'll be playing a couple instrumentals. He JUST got his drums 2 weeks ago. I like to throw my kids into the deep end right away, musically speaking.

By the way, did you notice the 'neck bend' at :47? I would trem that on my G&L if I were playing it, but I had the Tele this weekend. I do it, and THEN instantly realize that is could go horribly wrong if I'm not careful. I don't know if you could break a neck or not, but I imagine it can't be good for it.

I understand that. But the religious content isn't the reason you posted....you were sharing the excitement of the family bond, which is great to see in this day and age

Hopefully no-one would want to spoil that!!!!
