I really want to go, but my Mother is selfishly having a birthday or something.

Meh - mums have a birthday every year. Marshall only turns 50 once. If she was a good mother she would understand

Re: 50 Years of Marshall (London)

What an amazing evening

So many highlights!! My personal one....Satch and Paul Gilbert jamming on Going Down with Nicko McBrain on drums!!!. But also Paul and Mike Portnoy playing Hendrix' Manic Depression.

But also Phil Campbell and Kerry King playing Ace of Spades with Corey Taylor singing!!
But also Zakk Wylde and Kerry King playing Fairies Wear Boots!!
But also Corey Taylor and Kerry King playing Pantera's Mouth For War!!
But also Yngwie joining Glenn Hughes and playing Purple's Mistreated. (Glenn's voice is still mighty powerful, he hasn't lost anything!!!)
Kerry King playing with Ripper Owens on Living After Midnight!!

Just an absolute classic night, with so many classic moments. A great celebration and tribute to Dr Jim Marshall. he would have been proud....and loved every note Awesome

Really?

I was at the show and I thought it was pretty disappointing.
The sound was awful - could hardly hear a lot of the guitar solos
It was also a shame that there were so few British players to pay tribute to Dr Marshall.
I thought Satriani was the highlight by far although his tone was the worst I've heard in the 3 times I've seen him.

I thought Mouth For War was great - would loved to have seen even more from Kerry King - his tone was ferocious!

Re: 50 Years of Marshall (London)

I only found out about it by accident a couple of days before it was on!!!!

And yes....the sound wasn't the greatest but given the venue and the amount of different artists just jumping up one after the other, it was never going to be. The reason i enjoyed it so much was because of the FUN aspect and the vibe of the evening
