Dream Theatre & Symphony X

I've got an interview with these two bands....
thought I'd open it up and see if anyone had any questions they wanted to ask to either of the two bands??

Dream Theater questions:

I have noticed a more spiritual direction to the writing of lyrics.
Such as "The Great Debate" and several songs on Chaos.

Is this due to the maturity of the band or have any of you become more religious?

Do you work for a guitar magazine or something?

Ask Petrucci how much he can curl.

Re: Dream Theatre & Symphony X

I've a question for Michael Romeo of Symphony X.
Why did he choose to tune to D for all of their albums ? Any special reason ? Is there a story behind it ?
And one for Jason Rullo as well.
How does he stay in time with all of their songs and different time signatures while they are playing live ? Seems challenging to us normal drummers !

For Dream Theater:

Any plans to write anymore songs that a more "progressive" sounding (like those on Awake), as opposed to the long epic ballads?

Re: Dream Theatre & Symphony X

Ask if Ibanez has told Petrucci of any plans to have a JPM Reissue.

Re: Dream Theatre & Symphony X

Guys, Petrucci has explicitly stated that Ibanez does not offer him what he wants. I know it might be difficult to comprehend for you Ibanez lovers, but Petrucci prefers EBMM. Having a JPM reissue would probably fall against JPs contract with EBMM anyways.

Re: Dream Theatre & Symphony X

By what Paul Warren has said many times, JP doesn't actually have a written contract with EBMM, unlike with Ibanez.

And guys, give up wishing for JP to go back to Ibanez, .

Re: Dream Theatre & Symphony X

Wow what a show, met all the guys from Symphony X and Dream Theatre. Nice people. Michael Romeo was telling me how much he preferred his new Caprison guitars, apparently he had a bunch of necks from Charvel guitars he played back as a teenager he loved, so he sent them to Caprison and said model the guitar on these babies!
D.T. have no plans for festivals yet, but will find out in April. Symphony X are coming back to the UK in spring for headline tour and want to do as many festivals as possible in summer!
