Has anyone seen Al Dimeola??

i am probably the luckiest person ever!!! I was researching some possible concerts to attend and stumbled across Steve Morse Band/Dixie Dregs playing at a local venue in january. So i happen to check out the venues website, and Al Dimeola is playing tonight.
To make a long story short, it was a pretty amazing concert. Sound quality was amazing, and Al's playing was nothing short of perfect.

BTW STB is having a few gigs coming up for those interested.

I've seen Al about 20 times and he's certainly an astounding musician. However, the Dixie Dregs show is the show to see. If you can see Steve with the Dregs then absolutely go! In my opinion the Dregs music is better than Steve's later stuff.

You know I had never realy heard any Steve Morse stuff, not sure why, but last night I saw a video of him playing Simple Simon, I was really impressed.

Get "Unsung Heroes" or "Industry Standard" by the Dregs. If you only listen to Steve from his post-Dregs days you miss some of his finest work, certainly some of his finest writing.
As you become familiar with his work, you can see his enormous influence on guys like John Petrucci and Guthrie Govan. He really is as close to the epitome of a guitar player's guitarist as you get.

Yep, I saw him here in Germantown, TN a few months ago. The show was fantastic.

truly ran out of superlatives!!!

I believe this thread is about Al Di Meola, not Steve Morse??? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, haha.

Saw Al open the party at Namm last year for Kaman Music/Ovation Guitars Anniversary. Absolutely awe inspiring! NEVER fails to impress. Find yourself a copy of "Elegant Gypsy" and check out "Race with the Devil on a Spanish Highway".
