I saw the G3 here in Denver a couple months ago and as bummed as I was initially that Vai was absent, I gotta admit that it was one of the best yet!!! Pablo was brilliant

first time I've ever seen him live. What a treat!!!
The earlier G3's were much better than the shows in the last few years. Just seemed as if they had lost the energy and enthusiasm. (as a whole) They needed a change up of some sort. And Pablo was the perfect move to re-ignite that lost energy.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Vai at all! He has been for years, still is and always will be my top guitarist

Actually he is the only one that was still playing the G3 with enthusiam in the last few years, IMHO. You'll never see a "going through the motions" show from Steve

But he is just better suited for a full set because of the whole atmosphere and vibe that he creates and the short sets had to annoy him. I know they did me
Enough rambling.....it's very slow here at this hour
A necessary and great move changing the lineup and the G3 is BACK!!!!
