Rodrigo Y Gabriella
Any fans here? I'm taking Mrs Cid to see them in Milwaukee in Oct.
I just saw a commercial with them in it playing with Alex Skolnik. Mrs Cid says Mtv has them all over, which is weird because it's instrumental guitar music, not whiney teen age music.

Is that the couple that plays Flamenco and Huapango style music?
They're ok but I don't know if I'd go all the way to WI to see them.

Yep I've been there but it was quite a long trip for me, whereas for you is right next door; Still if I happen to go perhaps we can meet for drinks.

Re: Rodrigo Y Gabriella
In comparison to other flamenco guys I'm not terribly impressed. They are a good introduction to a new kind of music for most. Frankly I'll stick to Paco any day thanks.

I suppose comparing them to Paco is an honest mistake.

Re: Rodrigo Y Gabriella
they don't claim to be flamenco, or any other genre. Plus one of the guitarists uses a pick. they are both actually metalheads when they were younger. I think they are just trying to write good tunes.

Re: Rodrigo Y Gabriella
Sticking to one musician of a genre is very close minded Paco is great just like Vai is great but there are other musicians worth a listen. If everyone thought like you no one would bother taking up the instrument, because people would only listen to the best and chuck out the rest... !!
They play great guitar, youtube their performance on David letterman, the chick guitarist does this awesome bongo Sh-it on her guitar, its really quite good...

i just got the latest album, i'd never heard them before, was quite a surprise to hear Metallica's Orion on there, cool cover too. Should be a good show, different too.
