Cheers mate. Just got back I'm not sure what others thought, but both my brother and I really enjoyed the gig. Possibly one of my favourite Satch gigs. PG was excellent, but the crowd was a little quiet. Suppose most didn't know most of the stuff he was playing. Took a while for the crowd to liven up a bit even when Satch came on! But by the end, the place was rocking. Stu was awesome on the bass, loved the Zep track he did in his solo routine

He played the classics, Always, Surfing, Satch Boogie, FIABD. What else? damn I'm getting old...erm...oh yeh, Ice 9, Crying, Summer Song, a lot of the latest album. Opened with I Just Wanna ****, also played Musterion, Asik Veysel, Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat, Overdriver, Ghosts and Andalusia. I'm sure there was more, but I can't remember at the moment!
I was really hoping to see him play Searching, but it didn't happen

I was really hoping for Joe and Paul to play a couple of songs together. But it never happened!

Re: Satch's 2008 tour with Paul Gilbert

back from Newcastle show!

Well Paul and Joe were both fantastic, although who decieded to stand at the front when Joe came on caused a domino effect so the whole place stood for the entire set, wouldnt be so bad but stuck standing in same spot for 2 hours without freedom of movement because of chairs in way .... i'll stop whining

Joe played all the tunes i wanted to hear and then loads more, he was on longer than expected, Stuu (booo) did a cool solo set with his redneck yeehaaa stuff (seen him do that on DVD's before though) but that was fun

Paul was spot on too, you could tell he was happy as larry with his head bopping away pulling mad faces with his headphones on

Joe played his chrome boy too for a couple of tracks, mainly he played his 1200 and the white JS (is that the JS1000??) he also played a JS that kinda looks like the one on the back of FIABD cover but it wasnt that one, but had the same pen markings on

Re: Satch's 2008 tour with Paul Gilbert

Just back from Glasgow. The gig was super, far better than the Vai gig in 2005. I was pissed with the lack of programs though! I went home with a shotglass and a plectrum though.

Also, did anyone else get harassed because you were taking pictures? I agree no FLASH photography, but anyone with a decent camera knows that the stage lighting is enough to get good pics.

Saying that mines are over exposed because I set it too high accidentally. Oh well, photoshop here we come!

Re: Satch's 2008 tour with Paul Gilbert

Did anyone get a note of paul's dates for November - I know he's doing Newcastle and somewhere else....any other venues dates on the flyers???

I thought PG was amazing last night - great response from crowd too. Hats off to Mike Sutzer. He played a different set to the other gigs too. The Gargoyle was outragous
