I did, I got stopped just after PG's set. Really good show though....was it just me or were people booing at Stu? Or were they just saying Stu? Haha, I got really confused at that.

I was dissapointed that PG didn't play Down to Mexico, but Daddy, Brother... was just as good.

I must admit that I left before the end - Satriani just bores me but the gig was worth it just for PG

Stu always gets boo'd, i think its because it ryhmes, but apparently thats tradition. Also happens on some DVD's i got with him on.

I just read your post so i thought 'i'll have a look' I've just searched all over and I cant find it, argh! If it does turn up I'll update this topic

All I can remember it said November Paul Gilbert Newcastle City Hall £15, as the flyer was for that venue only I don't think it gave any other information about where else he is playing. But I can't see him just playing one place only.

But yeah i'll post if/when i find it to keep you updated.

Oh on the back of the flyer it mentioned yingie malmstream is also playing at some point...although he is talented ... yeah I dont like him lol
(oh as in seperate gig to gilbert).

Thanks. I would be more interested in the other dates as Newcastle is a bit of a long way to go for a gig

Re: Satch's 2008 tour with Paul Gilbert

I know. Satch has been my fave guitarist since i first heard FIABD when it came out!!

Paul has been my second fave since hearing his playing on the first Mr Big album (then discovering his playing in Racer X, although for years the only album i had could find was Live:Extreme Volume!) at around the same era. Good days

I've basically dreamed of going to this gig for almost 20 years

Satch is great and all, really great.
but it was the gilbert set that made me go "wow, just wow!"

Watch how many times satch does the "left hand legato while i point at someone in the crowd with my picking hand" trick!! i swear he did it like every verse of every song in a two hour set. I was longing for some Ywngie drop-kicks and guitar spins by the end!!
