Symphony X - Worcester, Palladium

Got my backstage pass earlier today. Total cost was $70, so it's now offical $230 cheaper than when I saw/met Dream Theater. Doesn't say they're playing with anyone else either which seems kind of odd.

Anyone in the MA area going to it?

Yeah, that's kind of crappy. I've seen and met Symphony X maybe 6 times (for free), so I won't pay extra cash just to meet em, and the fact that this is on a school day kind of kills things for me since Worchester aint exactly next door from where I am in Mass right now.

Ive met them every time ive seen them. They come around a lot dude, this is the 2nd time they're playing in Mass in the last couple months. They're extremely fan friendly and theyre not U2 so they dont hide out backstage. Every show I've seen they've come out after to talk to fans and hang out. At a place like the palladium it can be hard cuz theres a really large amount of people there, but they played at the Middle East in Cambridge a few months ago, which is a pretty small venue. I got to hang out with 'em there and watch the soundcheck, then me and my gf hung out with them after the show as well. Every other time I've met them at various shows in NY some big some not so big. Fantastic band and fantastic people as well. Me and Russell Allen had a 10 minute convo about Family Guy last time, sharing our favorite lines. No ego whatsoever in any of 'em. One of many reasons why theyre my favorite metal band.

Ah, see when they came to the Middle East I wasn't 18 so I got screwed over. I was pissed but this is my chance now.

I'm gonna try to have them sign my new axe and hopefully make it that much more awesome, although I'll be heart broken if someone stole it

Dude you're going to drag a guitar to the palladium, hold on to it throughout the entire show, and then wait outside afterwards for them to sign itl? I mean do as you will, but if this were a valuable instrument there's no way I'd bring it to a show, much less a metal show where people go nuts. Bring the pickguard or something if it has one. But yeah, they'll 100% sign it for ya if you want, like I said they're awesome. I'd say its safe to say you're taking a risk though lol.

Re: Symphony X - Worcester, Palladium

A. Bought a backstage pass
B. Won't break the guitar out till the end of the night
C. Could bring it in during the early access to the show

Should work out without any problems

A. Forgot about that. It's good that you won't have to wait around for them after the show. It'll probably be f'in freezin' then, considering this is mass after all.

B. Either way you'll have to keep it on you, and if you get stuck in a mosh pit even if its in a gig bag that could get bad.

C. Yes, you could but you wouldnt take it all the way back home and then come back to the venue would ya?

Just makin' ya aware of the risk involved haha, not trying to rain on your parade in any way. If its not an irreplacable guitar though then no worries. By all means do what ya want and I hope you have an awesome experience.

When I say break it out at the end of the night, I mean bring it out from the car. Essentially the same thing I'd do if I got them to sign it before the show then go put it in the car and go back in.

Anywho thats not the point of this whole thing, it'll definetly be a good show

Ahhh you're going by car, ok ignore everything I just said haha. I just assumed for some reason you wouldnt have a car there. And yeah its a great band to see live. I've seen some of their best setlists, 3 of the times I saw them they played the Odyssey. It was incredible . Bit off topic but what guitar are ya bringing?
