I hope DT goes on first cause I would want to go on after SymX owned the crowd...

Re: SymphonyX
I was really disappointed with the new album, they had something so original and I never thought they'd sell out to modern metal like everyone else did.

Re: SymphonyX
lol, I knew you wouldn't like that one. The bits that do sound like the old SX are like cut paste. Most bands have one or two albums then they decline, it just took SX a lot longer than most other bands.

Russel is insane. IMO PL is his best album to date.

Just because they got rid of the 22+min epic songs in favor of more catchy, heavier songs that don't go over 6 min doesn't mean they sold out at all. They actually don't have much of a fan base (19 out of 20 metal fans have no clue who they are) and they just want to broaden there reach a bit, which is great, if this gets them more play time on the radio, then awesome, they deserve it. They finally made a video, which is awesome, I hope it gets played on HB all the time. No where on this album is modern metal. Its prog all the way.

Either way it isn't as good, holdsworth said it was hard for him to get out because he was to jazz for rock radio and too rock for jazz radio, but he didn't dumb himself down to be rock or soften up to be jazz, he just kept doing what he was doing and did it so well that people had to pay attention. That's exactly what SX was doing up to the last album (which I think was excellent) and now it's like they've given up.

Re: SymphonyX
Actually I think their new album blows all of their older albums away IMHO

its called making money, claiming bands 'sell-out' makes you sound like you don't understand the music industry
