Did anybody else from here go????? Been a bit quiet, so i'll say something
It was a fantastic gig, Vai was on stage well over 2 hours. Some surprises in the set (i thought so, anyway

) in songs like All About Eve, Tender Surrender, Juice, Die to Live. He also played among others Freak Show Excess, Building the Church, Firewall, OOOO, Crying Machine, Answers, Audience is Listening. Encore was Liberty and FTLOG.
He did an acoustic bit and as he sat down and got comfortable he discreetly slipped in the riff from Damn Good and said "anyone remember that"
The best part of the show was Whispering a Prayer though. Not only was it played beautifully and majestically, but near the end he was at the front of the stage and leant forward for a couple of people to take a plectrum off of Flo's headstock

Wish i'd been at the front now

But......at the end of the song though the whole crowd just gave a spontaineous standing ovation (this wasn't the last song of the set!!!). Steve kinda stood there gobsmacked, confused, flattered and touched. The more he tried to understand it the more the crowd cheered, and this just kept going. It was a truly special moment to be at a gig, the connection between artist and audience at that point was electric and had to be experienced to be believed

It was an honour to be a part of showing appreciation to some-one who genuinely cares about his music.
That was my 2nd Vai gig, (and also saw him at the London Guitar Show).
A true artist and performer. Definately genius.
And a mega hot (and talented) female violin player too made it even better
