2 years ago today Steve Vai played in Sydney Australia, on the night of July 26, 2004.

My 25th Birthday.

I was one of the many lucky people that got to meet Steve after the concert. I couldn't believe that I got to shake his hand and that he wished me a happy birthday.

It's funny cause I know I made an ass of myself. I was just overwhelmed and didn't really know what to say. But ah well. It was a good night.

As I sit here and reminisce on this cold and lonely night. I'm filled with warm happy memories of a night I can't forget. Staring up at Vai and co as they rocked the venue for what didn't seem nearly long enough. Then waiting in the foyer eagerly with a few other fans to meet Steve for the first time, and say "hello" to a guy that has touched us all with his music.

I can't believe it was so long ago.

Here I am trying my hardest not to smile too much (don't ask me why...I don't know why the hell I tried to not smile), with Dr. Vai slightly distracted by one of his other fans... lol

Anyway, just thought I'd share the story.

Steve had his PhD awarded (honorary degree) in 2000 but the doctor I'm talking of earned his in '97 .....
It's a 50:50 choice considering there are only 2 other people in this pic.

Funny...I met Steve a bit over 2 years ago and that was 2 days after my birthday. I turned 26 lol. Happy birthday, btw.
