Acoustic Shredders

Can anybody recommend any virtuso-type players on the acoustic?

When I say that, I mean they specialise in acoustic and/or Spanish guitar, not like when Paul Gilbert picks up an acoustic 'cos he's an electric guy.

Know what I mean?

Andres Segovia, Manuel Barruecos and Strunz and Farah are three right off the top of my head.

Re: Acoustic Shredders

If you haven't done so I would check out Paco de Lucia. The work he did with John McLaughlin and Al di Meola - especially the Friday night in San Francisco cd is awesome.

Re: Acoustic Shredders

If I Youtube 'the Aussie guy' I'm likely to find a video of Steve Irwin poking a badger or something.

Youtube him, he has a crapload of different versions, they are all good, but the recording quality varies greatly. He does a few Mark Knopfler tunes too (Romeo and Juliette, Sultans of Swing) that are muy bien as well
