Alter Bridge's singer

Hey, wait a minute, isn't this the guy from Rockstar?

The one who Izzy (Marky Mark) leaves as the frontman for Steel Dragon?

I'm quite suspicious of this because I know I have seen the guy before.

I actially like Open Your Eyes a lot but I know that I might enjoy the album for a while but for some reason it'll just grow thin on me like Weathered.

Now, I knew I had seen the guy before. I don't think he's the one used in the tracks for the songs. That guy has a different, deeper voice.

Heh. According to IMDB:

Was offered an opporutnity to join Velvet Revolver (the band made up of ex-Guns N' Roses band members), but he turned down the offer.
He played "Thor" in Rock Star.

Now, i don't know about you guys, but i'm not sure if i'd want a lead singer who's got tinnitis. Somehow, i can't picture him in Velvet Revolver, either.

Darren, have you heard the guy?

He has a phenomenal voice, is a trained singer and can think as a musician with his from what i'm gathering from interviews and such.

If you've only heard open your eyes on the radio etc then pick up the album, tinitus or not the guy has one hell of a powerful voice! Range, tone, control its spot on and conveys the songs very well!

Now Weilands voice.. suppose its all a matter of taste but there is a guy who's been to hell and back and seems like he lost his chops on the way...

Contraband was my biggest let down this year, was so so loking forward to that album. But just as the snakepit stuff i found it uninspired melodies and samey slash solo's. Apart from the 2 singles I dont think i can hum or remember any of thir tunes and i've listened a good few times sad really cause we all know slash can burn and write great melodies...

the more time goes by i come to think that slash and axel need each other more than anyone including themselves care to admit, in order to wirte/create that sublime music they used to..VR do seem to be getting popular however I suspect thats just heavy VH1 rotation and good merketing on the labels part..not a bad thing however as we all know good marketing and heacvy rotation dont make for great music.

Just my ten pounds, sorrry for getting OT but just wanted to say dotnrule the guy out of your band just cause he hears white noise :P he blocks it out pretty damn good!

Even sadder: They had 3 singles (Set Me Free, Slither, Fall To Pieces)

And actually it's selling quite well from what I hear.

Tremonti's always had chops. If you listened to Creed's songs that weren't on the radio, then you'd hear a little more guitar. And taking lessons from Troy Stetina helped I'm sure

Hey man, Big Machine rocks!

That Thor guy, he's a helluva singer.

*trying to imagine Velvet Revolver with him instead of Weiland*

The actual tracks were done by the guy from Steelheart, whose name I won't even attempt to spell.

Edit: Googled - Michael Matijevic is his name.

Haha, i thought i was the only one who noticed that! I was shocked by Tremonti's licks but was more shocked by that disastrous last note!

But anyone who has Troy for a teacher and wears it on his sleeve deserves a pat on the shoulder. They even have an EP album of guitar-driven tunes at Stetina's site.

I think Matijevic sang Izzy's parts, but Thorr's was his own voice. I mean, anyone can notice the difference.

Definitely a great choice! I cringe at every Eddie Vedder riff that Scott guy rips-off all the time!

Yeah, I think the breaking up of Creed was a great move by Tremonti.

This Thor guy is many times better than Stapp.

In Loving Memory is a great song.
