Cobain just let rip into his instrument, I totally get it.

Now most guitar music in the charts is so simplistic and boring that I think we're gonna see more technique creeping in...and I welcome it with open arms!
dude its already here! Youve got total w a n k ers like dragonforce on MTV (occasionly), Trivium, DT is still burnin it up....
I see Emo kids in GC trying to shred all the time. Keyword trying. Then they cant and go cry.

Re: Any one here bored of Shred guitar?

I keep on listening to Joe and Steve, more Joe for some reason. Steve's music is cool but every now and then he has these Zappa moments that I just can't get into. Then I find myself listening to Jazz and Smooth Jazz as well and things change. Guitar players like Lee Ritenour, Russ Freeman, George Benson, Jeff Golub, Earl Klugh, Peter White, Chuck Loeb, etc. make my mind and my musical taste go to a different dimension.
I agree with some of the folks who said that they can only listen to Yngwie for a certain period of time. I think his music is cool but, over time you start to hear the same licks and scales. For some reason, Joe doesn't have that kind of effect on me and everytime I listen to his music I'm simply captivated by it.
I guess the reason I like Jazz/Smooth Jazz these days is because of the elevator effect. JUST KIDDING!
I like that kind of music because it focuses more on acuracy rather than speed. To this day, watching and listening to Wes Montgomery play his guitar makes me wish I could've met him when he was alive (provided that I was alive as well).
