Hey I was at home off work today with conjunctivitis and I figured I should watch some of the Asian cinema I've been taping off the Australian multicultural television SBS.
I pulled out one of the tapes and the movie on it was called "Aragami". Watched it, and even though it was a real short movie I really enjoyed it. I wont go through the story (some resemblence of info is available on IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362417/), but for the closing credits there was some really awesome instrumental guitar. I was really enjoying it and keeping an eye out for who performed it, and up popped up
Paul Gilberts name. The piece was called "Maybe I'll Die Tomorrow".
Now I've never really listened to a great deal of instrumental
guitar playing or many of the virtuosos' in detail bar Satriani, but boy did I get into Gilberts playing. To be honest I've only really heard two pieces of Gilberts playing that I can recall and that was Mr Bigs "To be with you" and "Just take my heart".
I know, not much, and probably not his most amazing efforts although his guitar playing makes it worthwhile, but damn I'm going to have to pick up some of his stuff now.
Has anyone else seen this movie and heard this song Gilbert played? What did you think of the movie too?
Can anyone point me to a good resource to listen to some of his solo stuff so I can choose a CD or two to pick up?
