Attended GNR concert last night
I saw Guns & Roses last night and was impressed with the musicanship. All guitarist are shredders and were given close to 10+ minutes each for a solo. I didn't expect that. Bumblefoot, representing NJ nicely, did an interesting version of Guns & Roses' "Don't You Cry" for his solo and it was amazing.
My only issue was, at great as the show was, it didn't sound like GNR. It sounded like an over produced cover band. Having 3 guitarist & 2 keyboardist took the feeling out of the music for me. I still had a great time and have much respect for everyone on that stage but may reconsider buying a ticket($100+) next time.

Well I would have stopped at the $100 ticket price, but GnR is not really GnR anymore. Axl can all the band whatever he wants, but that shipped has sailed.

Re: Attended GNR concert last night
Yeah, since he promised people, "will hear music this year."
just another year passing by.
i just watched some vids of the new GnR recently, and i must say that the older stuff they pulled off very nicely, and axl's singing was spot on.
but the new songs don't cut it the least bit.
GnR just ain't the same without Slash and Duff...

Re: Attended GNR concert last night
I think Bumblefoot is awesome (as was Buckethead), but maybe this whole thing should have been packaged as something else other than GNR (as VR did). Call it something else, do some new stuff, break out the Gunner's classic and quit trying to fool anybody, Axl.

Well, stuff was leaked on the internet. There used to be a killer GNR cover band called Nighttrain that played around here, I saw them a few times, best $5 I ever spent. The "AXL"'s woman did flip me off once when she saw me pointing and laughing after the show when his wig came off and I saw he was bald, but still worth the $5
