Ayreon and Star One

Hi! Just found 2 more bands that have made my jaw hit the floor...
I know- duh! They have been out there awhile. But I am slow to find things sometimes.

Ayreon: Wow. Totally awesome. I guess a lighter (?!?) version of Dream Theatre in some ways. Definitely some ELP, Marillion and Yes albums in their LP collections As an "old-school" prog-rock lover, these guys hit home. Incredible musicians, a bit hokey at times I guess, but the musicianship is awesome.

Star One: Ok. Make Ayreon a bit heavier, grab Symphony X's singer, and make an album about "Space." Then do a live show with 5 vocalists, guitar/key/bass wars (gotta love "tradin fours"), and make a package with 2 cd's and a DVD with over 2 1/2 hours of material.

If you dont like Yes, Dream Theatre, etc (other "old school" prog), it probably ain't for you. I "borrowed" some mp3's from a friend. After listening to just 3 songs, it was off to Amazon for a buying spree And then here to share with those who may have missed these two and are into this style of music. With all the bands tossin CD's out there these days, it is soooo hard to find the great stuff like this, mostly cause you wont see it on MTV, or hear it on the radio. Some days I love the internet tho... Nikki
