^^ I'm assuming you like rock music. What would you tell someone who said to you something similar to what you wrote, say .. "I recently tried very hard to like rock, but I failed miserably. I downloaded like 50 tracks and listened to them all twice and decided it wasn't for me. Too boring and repetitive. Did I miss something?"
---
And with that said - I'd say if you've decided it wasn't for you, then don't waste your time with it - spend time with the music you do like.
With that also said, let me ask you this: what do you like about music?
And having said that, I'd ask if there was any compelling need to decide whether or not you like jazz, or well, any kind of music. It's an expansive universe, keep listening. There's infinitely more structure in jazz than I feel you are perceiving. It does take some understanding to appreciate, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
