I was equally shocked that SRV's estate donated Lenny. I thought that would have stayed in Jimmie's possession for the rest of his life. Can't wait till Guitar Center gets things set up and takes these beautiful treasures on the road.

'Blackie' sold for $959,500, breaking a world auction record for any guitar. This famous instrument is now in the hands of Guitar Center

That sucks.

Not a bad total though eh, lol. $7million for the lot. Clapton must have been very happy with that total.
He'll be able to buy some more now, lol

But it is a shame its sold, I am suprised he wanted to get rid of it. Because as he said "its part of me". There must have been some reason.
Although, saying that - Im sure he has a few more!

Yeah, the proceeds go to fund his heroin rehab clinic, "Crossroads."

It's all charity I thought.

On one of his DVD's on which he performs with a lot of other artists, he also sold some of his guitars for charity(some of them he used for 15 years already and played with them on the woodstock festival). He explains that he had to cry when he gave them away.
