Cool Songs For My New Band To Play?? Ideas Please?

Hey Dudes,

Recently i have formed a new band with two other local dudes, we are all quite funky and after 3 jams so far we can play heaps of ****, we all sing which means we can do some crazy stuff like beatie boys and stuff,

so what im askin is you guys would see heaps of bands at clubs and stuff, what songs, when done well, absolutely go off?

Ill list some songs that we are doing, we can do heavy stuff but it usually has a funk twist to it.

songs we are gonna do:

311: Down
Primus: Shake Hands With Beef
Jimi Hendrix: Fire
Red Hot Chilli Peppers: Suck my kiss
Bloodhound Gang: Ballad of Chasy Lane
Soundgarden: SpoonMan
Rage Against The Machine: Wake Up

we are a 3 piece which helps us heaps, we are really tight, i play guitar, Ibanez RG570 via Marshall dsl head and 1960a quad, boss gt6 effects

Bass player has an ibanez 5 string, ampeg tube head with 4x10 cab and the drummer has a tama kit with a tight tight tight snare (think slipknot snare) and a heap of cymbals, sabian to be specific, i have 15 + years experience of playing, drummer is about the same as me, and the bass player is probably 10 years.

so if you guys have any ideas it would be great if you could list em here

Cheers

Jim

a 3 piece and like to sing hey?

Gloria - U2
Anything off Van Halen 1
American Idiot - Greenday

Honesty, it's one thing playing stuff you get off of and it's usually another thing playing stuff that a paying audience expects. Workout where you want to play, then find out what that audience gets off on and learn that. I went to a pub the other night. Great crowd and sufficiently drunk. The band got up and played Rainbow, obscure Deep Purple numbers, Rush, obscure Sabbath and Frank Zappa. Clearly, the band was there for their own enjoyment and all the punters wanted to do was to tap their feet in time to the beat and couldn't even do that.

P.S. So you're playing a DSL these days. Didn't you have a massive Behringer stack at some stage? and if so, why not now?

I find it hard for me to sing while playing guitar on Stairway To Heaven...
And if you want to share the limelight with the drummer, then you guys should play Moby Dick.
