They better come to australia this time, they should after the turn out at G3 (and that 80% of the crowd came to see JP)

What's truly crazy is that the promoters never made it possible for them to go. They would have gone in an instant, but there are still places that refuse to take a chance on them thinking they are some underground band where 10 guitar geeks will show up and buy no booze at that show.
It is 100% squarely on the promoters shoulders as DT have always gone where they're invited, so long as it isn't a losing proposition financially. They don't sit around and choose where to go based on preference and their past label was of no support. Their manager works with the offers they're given and if they can go and not lose money, they do it. I think G3 really helped open some doors for them in Australia, though. And perhaps Roadrunner will also be helpful in breaking into new markets.

Roadrunner, eh? I bet Portnoy is going to enjoy having unfettered access to Blabbermouth.net.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing them on tour again!

Yeah roadrunner send all their bands over here, if they're not extremely well known they'll just play melbourne and sydney, Dream Theater will no doubt do a full tour of Oz and new zealand though.
I remember at G3 JP had a guitar glich and had too wait about a minute and the whole crowd was chanting "Play Erotomania!"
I was suprised how many people there were DT fans.
