Ever bought a CD just to laugh at it?

Have you ever bought a CD with the intention of laughing at it? We're not talking comedy CDs. I'm talking about bands!

Being that it's Halloween, I got the sudden urge for a good laugh from my old friend, King Diamond. I just bought his new live double CD (Deadly Lullabyes Live). That did the trick! I'm over here dying of laughter!

It's funny though. I've always loved the music behind his voice & I can even handle his vocals on occasion (especially on the CD "Them"). In fact, Andy La Rocque is a guitar god. However, some of the vocals are so over the top in their sheer cornyness, it's put a huge smile on my face & has given me many bellylaughs.

Does anyone else have a guilty pleasure like this?

Dragonforce.

The music sounds like major chords being played really fast, with the cheesiest lyrics being played over them. But I totally love it!

I know Herman, actually a few of us UK jammers know him as he shows up to the Jemfests here.
The guy is very, VERY good which makes him sound out of place 90% of the jam as his super fast playing doesn't really fit that well.
Also I seem to remeber that last Jemfest UK he got really excited and tried to kill Pete's (welshpete) 7VSBL.........Pete was not amused.

I must say that I used to HATE King Diamond. Couldn't stand his voice, and the band shifted too damn much -- they'd play something cool and then shift into something else after about 15 seconds. But he has grown on me over the years to the point hwere I LOVE KING!

Seriously, though, check out The Puppet Master. That is a seriously creepy album.

a few years back I bought a friend a copy of Master P "Make Em Say Uhh!" Nothing better than enjoying the worst of black culture combined with the worst of hollywood production.

Primus and anything done by Les Claypool is hilarious, same with Eminem. I bought an Avril Cd just so me and my friend could sing and make fun of it at like 4am while we were at work.

Just looked in my CD collection and found this:
If you think Shatner is bad, then check out this:

Pat Boone - In a Metal Mood:No More Mr. Nice Guy

You can hear samples here
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...138462-4669405

Funny but in a cringe-inducing kind of way!

Black Ingvars (http://www.blackingvars.com)

Swedish band that mixes children songs, psalms, 60's hits etc with hard rock covers.

Fire and Ice by Yngwie.

Although I didn't know what riotous bellyaches awaited me until I got home.

Surely the cover art should have given me a hint!

I must admit, I'll always watch dreadful Chuck Norris films whenever they're on.
