EVH Talks to Howard Stern

EDDIE VAN HALEN SPEAKS TO HOWARD STERN:
A busy weekend as far as rock n roll news. The biggest news I guess is a rare radio appearance by Eddie Van Halen, phoning into the Howard Stern show to update listeners on everything Eddie.

It seems Ed was his usual entertaining self on the phone - his comments definitely giving fans an indication on where Van Halen goes from here (if anywhere). Highlights of the interview incude:
- Eddie calling Sammy and Mike's Other Half a 'cover band'.
- Stating that Van Halen is now himself, Alex and son Wolfgang. Anthony can 'do whatever he wants...'
- Stating that he was open to working / touring with David Lee Roth but any involvement with Michael Anthony seems all but impossible.
- Talked about his music in the adult film calling it a 'struggle between good and evil'.
- Smoking didn't cause him cancer, it was the use of metal picks, which he always had in his mouth.
- Next release will be a solo album or project with Alex and Wolfgang.
- Called Hagar 'Little Red Rocker' and 'Little Red Worm') and Michael Anthony 'Hot Sauce Sobileski'.
- Also talked of investing in a cancer center (something management told me in 2004...a substantial amount of money from all reports).

He is losing his mind, or what's left of it. I wonder if it is the alcohol or has he always been this wacky. He needs to apologize to Sammy & get him back in the band, Dave get sing anymore.

Hmmm, didnt sound too promising really did it. Doesnt sound like he is overly motivated to get out and do any form of new recordings as Van Halen. Even though he said he would be open to it, I cant see it happening. Its pretty cool that Wolfgang is in the band now though, would be good to see how he measures up.

Rickcard71, perhaps it is an issue of consistency, or merely just your opinion based on what you have perceived. Personally, I watched video of DLR singing recently and agreed, on one show he did not sing particularly well, but on the others he was absolutely fantastic. A much tighter musical expression than over-reliance on attitude and swagger, which of course he still has in droves but it's balanced now with a keener drive for professionalism.

Oh and Ayrton, just 1 1984?!?!!? I think you should put on your hessian robe and spank yourself silly to the sounds of that album on repeat play. Good lord!
