Re: For the Love of God cover
Not too bad, but i am not digging your tone soo much. Seems to be lacking sustain in your notes too. This is being played on what? like what guitar, it's wood, construction, pick-ups and then what amp, with what effects and cabinet.
I know it's a lot of info , but i am interested in know. Anyways i would definately continue practicing this one for a while and doing another video for contrast. I dunno, i do that a lot to see how my playing comes along

Re: For the Love of God cover
My cover of FTLOG was recorded using a 79 Dean ML Reissue equipped with a licensed floyd and a set neck with mahogany neck and body. The pickups are stock Deans, strings used were GHS Boomers 10-46.
From the Guitar I plugged into a Digitech GNX3 on my Vai setting. And finally i just simply ran a guitar cable with a Radioshack adapter straight into my computers sound card. I know this is a very ****ty method of getting my sound and eventually i'll get enough money for one of those cool USB audio interfaces.
Thx for the interest. \

Re: For the Love of God cover
You should just mic it straight from your cabinet. That's why you're getting a really thick and slightly muddy gibson tone. Which is cool for some stuff, but for this song - you'd probably want to go a bit brighter and with a little strat twang. Obviously the dean is huge slab of mahogany and therefore the gibby tones are normal, but yeah.
I saw the vid, nice axe.
Anywho firewire music ports are the ****, but it's a lot of time and money to operate at first.
