FTLOG inspiration

Has Steve ever said where the melody came from or how he came up with it? i was watching tv and caught a bif of Kung Fu (the 70s tv series), and the intro song there is pretty much the same...

felt so weird at the moment, you know that "whats that?? damn i know that tune!!! what is it??" feeling?
