G3 2003 CD Tracklist Info (Japan)

I found this information on Tower Records Japan website. Complete tracklisting for the upcoming G3 2003 CD. Scheduled release date is 2/25/03 in Japan, and possibly 2/17/03 in the USA. No specs about the DVD yet...

Link:

http://www.towerrecords.co.jp/sitema...DS_SORT_CD=101

Tracklist:

(Joe Satriani)
1. The Extremist
2. Crystal Planet
3. Always With Me Always With You/Midnight
4. The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing
(Steve Vai)
5. You're Here
6. The Reaper
7. Whispering a Prayer
(Yngwie Malmsteen)
8. Blitzkreig
9. Trilogy suite OP.5 The First Movement
10. Red House
11. Fugue
12. Finale
(Jam Session)
13. Little Wing
14., Voodoo Chile
15. Rockin' in The Free World

You're reading that right: only 3 Vai tunes and NO complete show. I'm disappointed, to say the least. My guess is that Epic was firm on this being a single-disc release, despite what Joe's intentions may have been. I thought a double-disc set would have been the smartest way to go, but I'm obviously not calling the shots.

I'll get 'em both, but I'm really looking forward to the DVD. Hopefully it'll be better looking than the Astoria job

Hmm, if it's not full sets this time I think it can stay on the shelf. I have no desire to pay forty bucks for a third of a concert.

guess who's not buying that crap? Me.

Only 3 songs of Vai? And it's not even new material. The Reaper? As in "Bill and Ted"? Puh-leez....

it's no offense to Joe, but I'm done buying his stuff it sounds the same to me live as it does on the studio album.

At least Joe is doing something outside the normal "Flying in a Blue Dream" and "Summer Song" set.

Yeah, it's a little lackluster. I'm afraid I'm not feeling much more optimistic about the DVD, but I'd really like the entire sets.

I'd rather hear the Reaper than Yngwie doing Red house...but then again, I'd rather cut off my feet and stuff them up my ass rather than hear Yngwie play ANYTHING....esp. Red House.

Heck, I'd rather hear the ripper (http://www.funstun.com/fart.htm) than Yngwie playing.

LOL! Is that how you really feel? It's OK to open up here on jemsite.

I feel like I'll be hearing it for the first time. His vocal mic was so loud during the G3 set it distorted so badly that I didn't even realize what song it was until it was half over.

Looks like I'll be the only one buying it... it may not be the best G3 disc we could have asked for, but I'd still say it's worth it.

Agreed, especially since it's not even close to being a stretch of DVD's capabilities to do so.

No, I'll buy it. I'm just sure they could've done better. That's all. Unless maybe we should boycott it

If that's the same listing as on the DVD, then I'm not getting it...
