If any of you guys are going to see the G3 tour and would like to meet Joe Satriani, they have a special "club Joe" ticket package I would highly recommend! I brought my wife and 9 year old son and we all had a great time. At first I felt a little strange, but Joe was a super nice guy and tolerated over an hour of stupid guitar geek questions from our small group. You can get information about the "club joe" packages from his website.

The concert was great, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert put on a good show as well. Definately worth the money. I overcame my buyers remorse and I am very happy that I did it.

P.S. He hinted about a new guitar that for next year. It coincides with an anniversary.

I just hope all three of them come and play over here in England for the next European G3 tour.

Let's hope also that the "Joe club" will not be limited to the US part of the tour and that it will be available to ALL european dates ...

This is what my wife wrote in her blog about the experience:

Just got back not to long ago from the G3 concert. It was AWESOME! I enjoyed myself & me, my husband & my boy got to meet Joe Satriani. Joe is very sincere and probably one of the nicest people I have met. Everything I have assumed about Joe's character was correct. I got plenty of autograph things & a picture to boot. My boy was thrilled to meet him. When Joe played Always With me, Always With You, my boy was at the front of the stage. Joe kneeled down in front of him & played directly to him. He played the musical piece a little different to the boy as if to specialize it for him. It was so cool. The crowd was wondering who Joe was looking at & playing too, & before long a crowd moved in toward the stage & all these people started taking pictures of this scene between them. It was very touching and I was happy to see that my boy got to be in front of the stage because this was the song he was learning to play on his guitar & the one he really likes to play. Well, it is late now & we are all tired but I wanted to share this wonderful experience with ya all. -Mary

They are supposed to email some pictures to us (no cameras allowed.) I will post them up when they come in. I hope there is some cellphone bootleg of the show. I am going to check youtube...

Sounds like a great show. I'm going to the show here in DC in April. I skipped the whole "meet Joe" package though. I'll save that extra cash for some gear!

If you'd seen him when he played G3 last time, you wouldn't be asking that question. He was awful and got booed by a lot of people.
