George Lynch plays w/ Pumpkins in LA

My brothers went to the LA Smashing pumpkins show last night ,and George Lynch showed up and played 2 songs. Apparently he played "Gossamer" and "I Am One part 2" and had a LONG solo. The audio should be up on their site- not sure about video. So cool!

I'm sure EVH playing on Michael Jackson's "Beat It" was so much better, right?

Artists have the right to do whatever the heck they please. They don't have to live by some kind of Old Testament law imposed upon them by their "fans".

I like a few Pumpkins songs, but they do things sometimes that I just think are cartoonish and annoying.

That would have been interesting to see, Pumpkins were amazing back in the day. Would still like to see them now.

Re: George Lynch plays w/ Pumpkins in LA

Billy Corgan is on record as saying he was way into Dokken back in the day, so this must have been cool for him. I like George Lynch (I'm seeing Lynch Mob live this week and I interviewed George a couple of weeks ago, yay!) but I like Pumpkins more, which may surprise a lot of people who know me as a shred dude! I saw Pumpkins live this year and they were just as self-indulgent and pompous as one would hope. They did a 30-minute pointless jam (which I'm sure was designed purely to alienate the people who went just to hear 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' and 'Cherub Rock'), which included Billy playing the song 'Black Sabbath' on a Gibson Tony Iommi SG, while singing lyrics from Britney's 'Piece Of Me' and changing it to "I'm Mrs-Oh-My-God-That-Courtney's-Shameless." Zing! And man, Billy can PLAY. The solo in 'Honestly' by Zwan is one of my favourite solos ever. It's simple and sloppy but it has vibe to spare.
