Hi guys,
Here's hoping the title got your attention!!!
I'm currently working in conjunction with Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey in order to gather music to be used for the 2009 -2010 season.
Some basics first then how you guys can get involved.
The club play in the Uk Elite League (highest level in this country) and are looking to build on their 5th place finish last season. We are renowned for having the best off-ice product in the league, and the team management and owner are looking to build on s in the future.
That's where I come in.
My company is working with the club to improve the overall content of music, video and production for both match nights and club events.
To that end I have been asked to source music that can be used at games, and possibly for some promotional videos played before the game and in the period breaks.
The average attendance at a game is around 2000, (hopefully more this year) and there are 30 home games plus half a dozen other events (awards etc) during the season. So the potential audience is pretty big! We've upgraded the in house system to over 20kW this season so nobody will be able to ignore it either!
We are looking for any suitable music that you are willing to provide - initially it will be for use solely in breaks in play. Anything goes - we are grateful for any help, plus the heavy rock stuff works well at hockey! It can be instrumental, or with vocals (if they are appropriate, then all the better).
If you produce sound-alike or pastiche music, that's great too, though we can't tread on any toes regarding copyright, so we're only looking for stuff that you have written or own the copyright to.
We are looking for everything from 30 stings for short stoppages, loops that can be used behind replays/announcements, full songs etc and in any style.
Rock, dance and film score style stuff are particularly of interest.
Since we are able to use commercial/famous music without charge for this, the incentive is really the exposure offered rather than a commercial offer. It's a case of extra exposure, I will personally ensure that all music used sourced from non commercial sources (that's you guys!) will be credited in articles on the club website or in the programme. Also the production manager will have a list of all songs used and further information so those tracks which gain interest from the crowd will be suitably promoted. I will keep the stream of info going on the club forums too.
If the right mix of tracks is produced, then there is a good chance that a 'highlights' CD or DVD will be produced at the end of the season and the content of this would be eligible for royalties (to be confirmed when production commences).
For tracks that we think are the right fit for highlights/promo video we will talk in more detail about the arrangements.
If you get in touch with me via pm, on this thread, or on
welshpete@hotmail.com we can talk further about the details.
I look forward to hearing some of the great music I know you guys produce!
Cheers
Pete
