good Vai or Dream Theater songs to learn?

What would be a good begining/intermediate Vai or Dream Theater song to learn? I have heard some of their tunes (For the Love of God-Vai and Change Seasons-DT) and I am very anxious to learn some of their songs...Where should I start?

Simple Vai Songs-

Die to Live, Liberty, Hand on Heart

Very impressive Vai Songs-

For the Love of God, Windows to the Soul, Big Trouble, and Eugene's Trick Bag.

One thing i forgot to mention is that for the DT songs, I lack a seven string. Therefore I am, at this point, only interested in learning their stuff that he played with a 6 string... Hope that helps.

If you don't mind tuning down your 6 string, I would suggest learning how to play some of DT's newer stuff like "As I Am" from their latest album.

I would say start off with Another Day, Ytse Jam, and Pull me under for DT songs. Those are some of my personal faves.

Vai... Hmm... Attitude song or some of the others that were listed.

Well, attitude song, ftlog, boston rain melody will be hard for an intermediate. yes they are impressive, but one can spend a very long time to nail them. So die to live, liberty will be a good start...

For fun easy songs I would suggest DT's Train of thought.

Check out the Scenes From A Memory album

A lot of veeery cool songs, probably one of the best, and they're not very hard, except from the guitar solos :P

DT's Erotomania.. it's actually not too hard at all.. even the solos aren't bad, and it's pretty fun to play
