Train of Thought is the best metal album I have ever heard, so really the top of that list should have Mr. John Petrucci on it. JP really must be a human metronome because on a few of the songs songs off of TOT he plays these muted notes that are sooo quick that it took me a few listens to hear it. An example of this is in Honor thy father just before the chorus and in the instrumental after the Transformers sounding bit. These parts are that fast that I could never see Hammett et al playing anything of a similar quality.
