Re: Guys, this is incredible

I knew he was good but not that good. The comments at the bottom make me laff. "Hes better than vai" and all that sh1t. One guy was right though, Vai couldnt play keyboards like Tony, but Tony could play Vai's song note for note hehehe.

Re: Guys, this is incredible

When he spoke i thought michael jackson was doing the voice-over

While i respect and admire him as a guitarist/musician,he's just one more who i find leaves me emotionally cold musically.Awesome talent (and that vid is very old ), but just not my cup of tea.
(thats just my opinion, not a call for "flame wars" to start).

Re: Guys, this is incredible

I know what you mean mate. In a way, Vai, Satch, Gilbert are all pretty emotionless when COMPARED to other players. Note the COMPARED, meaning they are not totally emotionless. I love listening to guys like Gary Moore, Chris Rea and Mark Knopfler cos they play by instinct and heart rather than "how fast can i go" and "look at me, i'm Yngwie Malmsteen, i can make a Hendrix song sound sh1t".

T-mac is good though.

Maximum Security would be a good album to start with if you're getting into his music.

Tony is an awesome musician and a very down to earth guy!!!
I've been playing his stuff since I was a kid, Tony and James Byrd are my favorite players from the Yngwie Bach & Roll school!!!

Re: Guys, this is incredible

I found it kind of boring -- one dimensional. Petrucci, Malmsteen. Shredding for the sake of shredding = yawn.

I don't know how anyone can compare him to Vai. I think Tony Mac has found his perfect place backing Vai.

Re: Guys, this is incredible

May be right there. Maybe he should f£ck Dave Wiener off and put Yngwie "tw@t" Malmsteen on his left.

So give me you definition of "EMOTION" since you think you're an expert on the subject saying that Gary Moore has more emotion than Vai, Satriani, Gilbert is a little idiotic what do you base your absurd remarks on? speed??? please dude stop bashing shredders just becuase you don't like speed or you can't play fast it doesn't mean that it's emotionless, ask Allan Holdsworth or Alvin Lee or Al di Meola, Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker, Ritchie Blackmore etc...and for the record, Gary Moore can play pretty fast and there was a time when he was considered a Shredder not a Bluesman. So would you consider Crying, Always with me Always with you, The forgotten part II, FTLOG, Tender surrender and many many others not as emotional as something by Mark Knopfler??? you need a reality pill dude!
