Hardcore, Metalcore?
I would like to know your opinion on the newer style of music, Mainly hardcore and metalcore, you know that whole Droped C tuning stuff, Now I personally have a very very very very limited selection of the likings for this new style of music.
for those of you who arent familiar with theese genre's here are two examples
Hardcore.

Re: Hardcore, Metalcore?
I used to like it, Im glad I went through the phase tho because all the shred techniques are there, the're just not used very tastfully. It gave me alot of experience with things like alt picking, triplet notes and time signatures before I started learning more advanced (and tasteful) styles.

All I can say is
BLECH
If I want to listen to technique while making it tasteful, I'll listen to Jazz.

Can't stand any of it, and it's become so cliche it's not even funny.
I used to call Nu-Metal Mallcore. This fits that same brain-dead mold.

G@y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate hardcore kids and thier outfits and thier two stepping, and thier g@y frolicing they consider moshing, and thier skinning little jeans and thier constant complaining and thier permanently broken hearts.
All of it sounds the same too.

Re: Hardcore, Metalcore?
Unearth is hardly "drop C tuning". They play 7's, for Pete's sake. And listen to the shred near the end of the song.

Re: Hardcore, Metalcore?
What the hell is up with this constant barrage of absolute **** singers? Screaming into a mic is hardly "singing", and both of those clips are the same old tired riffs with someone screaming over it.
If that sort of thing appeals to you, then hooray for you, but to me it sounds like beating two cats together.

Re: Hardcore, Metalcore?
At least Unearth has good guitarists....
I think In Flames are fairly good, they write some catchy tunes.
